Leadership 3.0 in Irvine

Today I am in session 2 of the http://www.lead3.org/ confernce in Irvine, CA Right now I am trying to learn how to help teachers incorporate technology without wasting time. My main purpose for attending this confernece is to find tools and resources to bring to my junior high. Currently we have 2 classrooms with smart boards and I don't think they are set up correctly. We do not have any sort of student response systems.

Our classrooms do all have document cameras and projectors, but many teachers still do not use them or just use them as glorified overhead projectors. How can I support the teachers who are ready to move forward with more interactive class strategies using technology?
How can I get resources in a time when we are trying to save jobs and keep 180 days in our school year?

Let me know if you have any answers.....

Introduction to me

SO I have been in Junior high for almost 15 years. That is in addition to the 3 years I actually spent in junior high as a junior high student. I began in 1995 as an emergency sub in an 8th grade classroom for a teacher who died mid-year. I kept thinking I would move on but, 15 years and four districts later, I am still here.

I would like to start this blog just so I can remeber some of the crazy shit that goes on in middle school life. I hope others will share their stories too. I know you remember some classics from your own days. Kids...we have ALL been there so just because you are doing it now doesn't mean you did it FIRST! Good Luck!
